Inertia is the resistance, of any physical object, to any change in its velocity. This includes changes to the object’s speed, or direction of motion.
An object that is in its resting state takes extra effort before it will move. By the same token, once its is in motion, it takes extra effort to make it stop or cause it to shift direction. This is Newton’s first law of physics.
Besides physical objects, the rule of inertia can be mapped to human behavior as well. For example, it is very hard to kick habits. Changes (movement patterns, personal or corporate direction) take lots of energy. For example, it is hard to training for a marathon where you have to put in miles after miles everyday to prepare for it. However, once you manage to get yourself into a training rhythm, if you stopped for a week or so, you will feel agitated as well as the ‘need’ to go out and do some running. While this can be explained by endorphin withdrawal, or you can simply categorize it under inertia.
The human mind has its own weird ‘physics’ that parallels to and relates to the physical world. If you can somehow ‘move/trigger’ the mind, the physical body will follow. If you can inspire the brain, then the brain can command the body with minimal resistance. If you belief, you can almost trick yourself into doing anything.

It is important for you to view this blog as an important aid to your training. It is not that much about getting complete alignment of answers. It is more about raising questions, seeing interpretations, sensing possibilities, developing communication skills and being open to see things from more than one perspective.
A few of you have been tardy in completing the blog and that makes me sad. I put in the time with the honest belief that it can help you in your journey. The more you resist, the harder it is. Furthermore, you are becoming a drag to everyone else who wants to learn and improve. I am evolving alongside with all of you. Each and everyone improving is important to me.
How can you leverage off this principle of inertia in combat?
Due March 2nd Saturday.
