If you categorize people by their gender, you are a chauvinist but the last I check, men and women washroom are still separate.
If you classify people by their race or country of origin, you may be a racist or a comedian.
If you classify athletes by their ability, you are not being fair to others but that is exactly how elite teams are formed and trained.
If you classify basketball players just by their height, you will get “Big Country” and leave out Steve Nash.
If phone companies think of themselves as simply phone companies and not in the ‘communication’ business, they would have been replaced just like telegraph companies.

If you use categories as an absolute, it may have its use but can be limiting – our mindset will be to try to understand (other people’s definition) instead of exploring and experiencing.
If you use categories as adjectives or as a starting point, it can be applied to numerous things and most important of all, you will most probably be thinking “how else can I see / experience /describe it?”

There is a time and place for categorization and there are many ways to do it. There isn’t a single most effective way to categorize things, it all depends on the purpose.
