LHBF martialgym is very Canadian if you think about it:
- Multicultural – our gymnastics portion comes from Japanese men’s rhythmic gymnastics and liuhebafa comes from China. Here in Canada, without any social pressure or cultural baggage, I was able to experiment and develop my thoughts fully.
- For both genders – while one of our origins comes from Japanese men rhythmic gymnastics, by changing the name and taking the gender out of the sport, we make it assessable to both genders.
- Available to participants of all abilities – we currently have participants from age 5 to over 80 years old. Classes can be as fun, intense or gentle as is required based on partcipants’ goals. Furthermore, MartialGym (gymnastics portion) is also performed by Special Olympics out in Ontario.
- LHBF principles applies the Laws of physics and therefore stay constant across race, religion, gender and personal preferences. We consciously avoid ‘branded’ words and myths that makes it hard for participants and therefore contradicts our goals.
- Connected – Canadians do not live in igloos. We do not live in isolation and are very well aware of everything that is assessable to us. We are not shy to experiment or to learn from others, this includes other martial arts, sports, dance, psychology, business management, etc.
Exercise
In Canada, we believe in the freedom of choice. In LHBF, what kind of freedom are we talking about? what do we do to ensure that we can exercise that right to choose?
Happy birthday Canada!
